Notices: Welcome in our seventh lesson! In this part of school
we will learn a little more of theory. We will also try to
play our next song (at least ;))!

Ex. 1 - Look at this exercise? Do you remember it? We
were learning it in our first lesson. But this one is a little
different than first version of it. It is much faster than the
previous version! You have to practice A LOT to be
able to play it in this tempo. In about two weeks you
should be able to do it... Hmm... You MUST BE ABLE
to play it in this tempo after about two weeks. And don't
ask me why - just practice :)

Ex. 2 - In this exercise we will learn few Open Power
Chords. Open Power Chords are a little harder and
"lighter" versions of Power Chords. We are building
them by changing a little our fingers positions and
adding more notes than to normal Power Chords (for
example notes played on open strings). In bar number 7
you will find traditional C Chord, in bar number 8 you will
find C5 Power Chord and in last bar of this section you
will find an Open C5 Power Chord. In next sections you
can find Open E5 Power Chord (12th Bar), Open A5
Power Chord (15th Bar), Open D5 Power Chord (18th
Bar) and Open G5 Power Chord (21st Bar). Learn them!

Ex. 3 - This is exercise should help you to practice
Open Power Chords. Remember about palm
muting!

Ex. 4 - We will learn now a new guitar technique -
hammer-on. This is another kind of legato playing
because we are picking only first note in two (or more)
notes sequence. To make a hammer-on we should pick
the first note and then tap on fret with the second note
that we want to play. In this example we should pick
notes played on 7th fret and tap notes played on
9th fret. In other words you have to put your index
finger on the 7th fret, pick this note and then tap the
9th fret with other finger. Hammer-ons are labeled with
arches in music.

Ex. 5 - Practice! Listen to this example and then play it.
BTW: do you know already what song will we learn in a
moment? :)

Ex. 6 - In this exercise you have to use your little finger.
It is very important if you want to play well on a guitar.

Ex. 7 - Sequence of three notes in which we pick the
first note only is named double legato. Two other notes
are played by tapping them with one of our left hand
fingers. Practice :)

Song 4 - In this song you will practice palm muting and
hammer-ons. See You :)

Lyric
Some like beautiful, perfect, and pretty
I see the good in the bad and the ugly
I need the volume one louder than ten
Put the pedal to the metal, needle into the red
If the windows ain’t shaking
Making my heart race
If I can’t feel it in my chest
I’m in the wrong damn place

Got a demon in my soul
And a voice in my head
Saying go, go, go
I can sleep when I’m dead
There’s a sonic revelation bringing me to my knees
And there’s a man down below that needs my sympathy
I got a ringing in my ears getting ready to burst
Screaming hallelujah mother fucker take me to church

I like it louder than the boom of a big bass drum
I need it harder than the sound of guitar grunge
I like to crank it up, make it thump, all needles to the core
Head banging in the pit and throwing my horns
And just like old school Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Lemmy
I need to drop it down low and make it heavy
I like it heavy, whoa
I like it heavy, whoa

I ride the lightning, roll with the thunder
Going down, down, down with my sisters and brothers
I fell in love with the darkest parts
Standing on the side of the wild at heart
I plucked a feather off a crow
So I could fly
Since I was 13 years old
I’ve had my horns to the sky

I like it louder than the boom of a big bass drum
I need it harder than the sound of guitar grunge
I like to crank it up, make it thump, all needles to the core
Head banging in the pit and throwing my horns
And just like old school Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Lemmy
I need to drop it down low and make it heavy
I like it heavy, whoa
I like it heavy, whoa

I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy

Some like beautiful perfect and pretty
I see the good in the bad and the ugly
I like it heavy, whoa
I like it heavy, whoa

I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
