Notices: Ex. 1 - Let's start our next lesson with learning what an
pull-off is. Pull-off is another kind of legato playing
because we are picking only first note in sequence.
Pull-offs are marked by arches in music (just like
hammer-ons). To play the first example you have to put
your index finger on 3rd fret of high E string and pick
this note. Now you have to make a pull-off. To do it you
have to quickly lift your finger from the 3rd fret - open
string ("0") should sound with its full power ;) Then you
have to pick an open string. After doing that - pick the
note that you can find on the 5th fret, make a pull-off
and so on...

"P" means "Pick"
"PO" means "Pull-off"

Ex. 2 - "Start off with both finger on the fretboard. The
index finger at the 5th fret of the D string, and the ring
finger on the 7th fret. Just pick the note at the 7th fret.
While that note is ringing, pull-off your ring finger and
leave your index finger on the 5th fret so the G note
sounds."

Ex. 3 - Practice :)

Ex. 4 - We can connect Hammer-ons with Pull-offs.
Listen to the example then play it by yourself. Guitarists
often connect those two techniques in their solos.

Ex. 5 - In this example you have to make a bend. I'll
write more about this technique soon. In this part of
school I will tell you only a few things about it. To make
a bend that is shown in this example (it is marked with
a little arrow) you have to put your index finger on the
second fret of the G string, pick the note and bend the
string with that finger. After that get the string to its
normal position without lifting your finger. The bend
should send exactly like the one shown in this example.
And that's all :) Practice!

Ex. 6 - Look at this. We can add a second or ninth to
basic Power Chords. If we will add a ninth to a C5
Power Chord we will get C5add9 Chord. If we will add
an ninth to D5 Power Chord we will get a D5add9
Chord and so on... In 18th bar you can find an A5add9
and C5add9 Chords, in bar 19th you can find D5add9
Chord. In 20th bar you will find C5add9 Chord again
(remember that "add9" = "sus2" ("C5add9" =
"C5sus2")).

Ex. 7 - We can modify basic Power Chords by adding a
fourth to them also. We are adding an "sus4" to names
of that Chords. In first bar of this exercise you'll find and
Dsus4 Chord, in second bar Asus4, in third bar Esus4
and in fourth bar Asus4 again.

Lyric
Some like beautiful, perfect, and pretty
I see the good in the bad and the ugly
I need the volume one louder than ten
Put the pedal to the metal, needle into the red
If the windows ain’t shaking
Making my heart race
If I can’t feel it in my chest
I’m in the wrong damn place

Got a demon in my soul
And a voice in my head
Saying go, go, go
I can sleep when I’m dead
There’s a sonic revelation bringing me to my knees
And there’s a man down below that needs my sympathy
I got a ringing in my ears getting ready to burst
Screaming hallelujah mother fucker take me to church

I like it louder than the boom of a big bass drum
I need it harder than the sound of guitar grunge
I like to crank it up, make it thump, all needles to the core
Head banging in the pit and throwing my horns
And just like old school Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Lemmy
I need to drop it down low and make it heavy
I like it heavy, whoa
I like it heavy, whoa

I ride the lightning, roll with the thunder
Going down, down, down with my sisters and brothers
I fell in love with the darkest parts
Standing on the side of the wild at heart
I plucked a feather off a crow
So I could fly
Since I was 13 years old
I’ve had my horns to the sky

I like it louder than the boom of a big bass drum
I need it harder than the sound of guitar grunge
I like to crank it up, make it thump, all needles to the core
Head banging in the pit and throwing my horns
And just like old school Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Lemmy
I need to drop it down low and make it heavy
I like it heavy, whoa
I like it heavy, whoa

I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy

Some like beautiful perfect and pretty
I see the good in the bad and the ugly
I like it heavy, whoa
I like it heavy, whoa

I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
I like it, it like it, I like it heavy
